18th Century Irish Mahogany Wake Table

Of remarkable colour and figuring, the mahogany top retains all the patina and character of its 250 years. Standing on 8 straight legs, 4 of which are gateleg, this comfortable sits 6 and 8 at a pinch.
A classic piece of Irish country house furniture, these tables were originally used to hold a coffin while the leaves would provide ample space for food, drink and candles while friends and family mourned the deceased.
