A pair of early 19th century German Husband and Wife Portraits.
The portraits depict Petrus (1580-1651) and Anna H. Tudermann (1595-1678) in original frames (splits, losses but stable).
The back of the male reads, in latin: "Petrus Tuckerman, the Preacher of the Court, the Prefect of the Consistory, and to the most general superintendent of the illustrious Leadership of the Churches / painted after the paintings by C. Tunica to be found in Brunswick"

Acquired on July 19, 2013 at Douglas Auctioneers sale of the Tuckerman Estate
These are copies of much earlier portraits that now hang in the Museum Salve Hospes in Brunswick, Germany
