Exceptional example from the George I period c. 1720.
 
Black Japanned with Chinoiserie figures performing various activities on the top, the frieze has flowers and birds in flight, and the legs are adorned wit vines and flowers. 
 
The frame is tight and in wonderful condition but there is some small missing japanning to the legs. 
 
A truely special piece of early Georgian furniture.
