"The Torrens" - John Bentham Dinsdale (British, 1927 - 2008)
The back reads "The Torrens was built in 1875 by J Laing in Sunderland. Used mainly as a passenger clipper. Composite built she was one of the last big ships to carry and use (?)sails. Joseph Conrad was Chief Officer 1891 - 1893. Broken up in 1910"
Beautifully painted in a gorgeous gilt frame.
